IESCO bill due-date extension and installment requests
IESCOBillDesk · Reviewed 28 October 2026
An extension and an installment plan solve different problems
An extension changes an approved payment deadline. An installment arrangement divides an approved amount into scheduled payments. Ask which option the supplier is considering for your account and whether it concerns current charges, earlier dues or both. A request is not the same as approval, so retain the original bill while waiting for a decision.
Prepare the account information before contacting the office
Keep the current bill, account identifier, billing month and due date ready. Identify the amount you are asking about and explain the payment difficulty clearly. If a payment has already been made, keep its receipt. Ask which office handles the request for your connection and which documents are needed rather than travelling with an incomplete application.
Why generic installment limits can be misleading
Published guidance can refer to different periods, approval powers and account conditions. IESCO’s FAQ discusses arrangements for arrears, while the newer Consumer Service Manual also addresses current-month installment requests. Do not use an older online table as proof that your application will qualify. Ask the responsible office to confirm the policy and conditions that apply now.
Read the approved schedule before paying
The Consumer Service Manual provides for computerized bills when an installment or extension is allowed. Check the account reference, revised dates, installment amounts and any markup or other entries on the issued record. Ask how current consumption bills should be paid alongside an arrears arrangement. Keep the approval and every receipt together so you can compare later balances.
Do not create your own payment arrangement
Sending an arbitrary fraction of the bill is not evidence that the supplier agreed to installments. Likewise, a complaint about a charge does not itself postpone payment. Ask the supplier what amount and date apply while the issue is considered. If an approved schedule contains a mistake, request clarification before relying on your own rewritten version.
Follow up if the revised record does not match
Compare the written approval with the account record and identify the exact date or amount that differs. Keep the office acknowledgement and use the same account and case reference for follow-up. This site cannot grant an extension, negotiate a plan or confirm charges for an individual account. The supplier must explain and issue the applicable arrangement.
Frequently asked questions
Can this website extend my bill deadline?
No. Only the responsible supplier can approve and record an extension for the account.
Does submitting a request stop late charges?
Do not assume so. Obtain approval and confirmation of the applicable revised amount and deadline.
Are installments automatically interest-free?
No. Ask for the complete approved schedule and any applicable markup or charges before relying on the plan.
Can I split the payment without approval?
A partial payment does not establish an approved installment agreement. Confirm the arrangement with the supplier.
What if I cannot meet an approved installment?
Contact the supplier promptly and ask what options and consequences apply. Do not assume the next date changes automatically.
